We share our key takeaways from the European Power Platform Conference in Copenhagen, where AI, agents and Copilot Studio were high on the agenda. We explore what the rise of AI agents means for organisations using Power Platform, CRM and Business Central, and why starting with the right business problem matters more than chasing the latest technology. From choosing when to use an agent and when not to - to building in governance, testing and control from the start, this is a practical discussion for anyone looking to use AI in a smarter, safer and more valuable way. Our Head of CRM and Power Platform, Jason Tromans, joins Tecman Talks AI host, Liam Walton, to explore handy AI capabilities transforming sales interactions inside Dynamics 365 CRM.
Together, they demonstrate how Microsoft Copilot is helping sales teams spend less time searching for information and more time building customer relationships. Discover how AI-generated meeting preparation appears directly in Teams before customer calls, how instant opportunity and account summaries provide the latest state of play in seconds and how natural language queries can uncover sales insights without complex reporting.
We also take a closer look at the Sales Research Agent, showing how it can analyse pipeline trends, compare year-on-year performance, break down results by salesperson and surface actionable insights from your CRM data.
If you're looking to make your CRM work harder and smarter, this is an episode you won't want to miss.

As part of the update from BC 27 to BC 28, many standard Microsoft in-application reports have been renamed as Obsolete. Equivalent reports are still available under the same names, but they now open using either a Word or Excel report layout.
The Obsolete reports use RDLC, Microsoft are deprecating their use of this reporting tool. Microsoft has redesigned these reports to use Word and Excel layouts instead, so we recommend using the new layouts wherever possible.
The Obsolete reports can still be used for now, but they will be removed in a future BC update. We therefore recommend helping users become familiar with the new report layouts by using them over the Obsolete reports. Microsoft continually updates Business Central to replace deprecated technologies and improve the product, so although this change may cause some frustration, there is a clear reason behind it.
Fixed outcome ERP implementations offer a structured, lower‑risk route to adopting Business Central, but they are not a one‑size‑fits‑all solution.
By focusing on tried and tested processes, this approach can reduce complexity, control costs and deliver value more quickly. Success, however, depends on aligning business expectations with what the system is designed to deliver.
The real question isn’t “can it work for us?” – it’s “is this the right approach for our business?”
While templated approaches suit organisations seeking speed, clarity and standardisation, more complex or highly specialised operations may still require tailored elements. The real value lies in choosing the right approach for your business, not forcing a solution to fit.
Explore how AI can make Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM more useful, proactive, and valuable across the business by supporting better decisions, streamlining everyday tasks, and improving customer experience - while also revealing why it cannot solve poor data quality or broken processes on its own.

Tecman Content Manager, Claire Payne, steps out from behind the scenes of the series to show you how to use the Writing Coach agent as a template to create a custom AI editor tailored to your company’s tone of voice.
Quickly review content, spot issues and get clear, actionable recommendations on improvements, helping written content and communications from across your business align to your brand tone of voice every time, no matter who’s written them.
In this episode, you’ll see examples of the kind of feedback the agent provides, hear why Claire believes this method works better than “AI writes it for you”, and find out how recent updates – including natural‑language prompts for agent building – can save you even more time.

Manual order entry is costing manufacturing and distribution businesses far more than many realise. Time is lost rekeying emails and PDFs, errors creep in, customers wait longer and teams stay tied up with administration.
We cut through the hype and focus on practical, proven ways to automate sales and purchase order processing in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. This includes what works in real businesses – from AI‑driven agents that read emails and attachments, to EDI, integrated eCommerce and document capture – and how to choose the right approach for your organisation.
The benefits are clear. Automation reduces errors, gets orders into the system faster, improves stock visibility and frees customer service teams to focus on complex exceptions and customer relationships rather than data entry.
The bigger takeaway is future proofing your business. Rising order volumes and customer expectations make manual processing unsustainable. Businesses that automate now gain efficiency today and build a platform that can scale for what comes next.
